MÉxico Today
- One of largest economies in the world- produce oil, silver
- Economy largely dependent on NATO, especially USA
- Tourism: tenth most visited country in the world with most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Americas
- Immigration: many Mexicans cross into USA, sometimes illegally
- US-Mexico Border is a hotspot for violence, drug cartels: women especially vulnerable to this violence
- Racial/economic inequality: Indigenous people consistently have worse health, lower wages, lower nutrition, worse housing than mainstream mestizos
- Industrializing and urbanizing: emerging power
